New build Passivhaus in Wellington Heath

An ‘upside down’ Passivhaus in a lovely Herefordshire village completed in early 2021. High specification with our usual 300mm deep I-beam frame with Warmcel insulation. Heated with Vaillant ASHP.

Bishops Castle Passivhaus

A new build 3 bedroom bespoke dwelling build to a high specification. This house was built on a new development site for clients who were moving to the Borders area.

Built using I-beam frame, insulated with Warmcel insulation, Zehnder MVHR unit and GBS Progression windows. The property is clad in douglas fir to the upper portion and Weber render to the lower part of the house.

The Spond Passive House Barn Conversion

This project was for client Jim Rann. It is a 4 bed, 2 storey detached barn conversion measuring 200sqm, and was constructed using timer I-beam walls and Kingspan composite roofing. The windows used are GBS Ultra and the Heating is a Mitsubishi 5kW ASHP. The airtightness rating is tbc, as is the PH (Passivhaus) status.

Reform Cottage Deep Retrofit (Enerphit)

This was a project for clients Gervase and Sonya Mangwana. It’s a 4 bed, 2 storey detached house that measures 180sqm. The construction method was EWI (External Wall Insulation) to existing brick and stone, using EWI and Warmcell insulation. It is heated using EWI and wet UFH (Under Floor Heating) which is powered by 6kWp Solor PV’s. The airtightness came out at 0.54 ACH, and the building’s PH (Passivhaus) status was certified Enerphit.

Ty Pren - Passive House New Build

Ty Pren is a 3 bed, 2 storey detached house that the company built in West Wales. It’s 120sqm and was constructed using times I-beams. It is insulated using Warmcall and is fitted with Progression windows. It’s heated using electric UHF which is powered by 6kWp Solar PV Renewables. It has an airtightness of 0.11 ACH, which was the best reading in the country when it was measured.
